To be eligible to participate in 毕业典礼 ceremonies, a student must be able to complete all degree requirements during the 日历 year in which 毕业典礼 ceremonies take place. 例如, those who plan to participate in 毕业典礼 in June 2021 must be able to complete all degree requirements by the end of Winter Quarter 2021, 2021年春季学期, 2021年夏季学期, 或2021年秋季. Students who cannot fulfill requirements for their degrees during that commencement cycle are not allowed to “walk” in the 毕业典礼 ceremony. (注意，这是一个一次性的例外 during SPU's transition year to the 日历 年度开始模型, Autumn 2019 graduates may participate in the June 2020 毕业典礼 and will be listed in the 毕业典礼 brochure.)
You must formally apply for graduation, and are encouraged to do so as soon as you have earned approximately 105 credits and have been admitted to all majors and minors you plan to complete. 申请毕业通过 横幅资讯系统 然后选择“学生菜单” “毕业 Menu,” and, finally, "应用 to Graduate."
If you meet the graduation application deadlines below, you will receive information on your academic progress prior to your anticipated quarter of graduation.
- 春夏季度: May 1, the year prior to graduation
- 秋天季度: November 1, the year prior to graduation
- 冬季学期: February 1, the year prior to graduation
If you do not meet application deadlines, you might not receive academic progress reports and may apply too late to be listed in the 毕业典礼 brochure.
Information about the time, date, and procedures for all 毕业典礼 activities will be communicated via your SPU email account. Receiving commencement information does not guarantee that you will be allowed to participate in 毕业典礼 ceremonies. It merely indicates that you have applied to graduate during the current academic year.
Your degree will be awarded effective the quarter in which all degree requirements are completed and the final grades for all courses have been assigned, regardless of the term in which you registered for those courses.
Degrees are awarded by the end of the quarter following the quarter in which the degree was completed.
Diplomas are not distributed during 毕业典礼. You will receive your diploma once final grades have been posted and Student Academic Services staff has confirmed that all graduation requirements have been fulfilled. During the 毕业典礼 ceremony, you will receive a diploma cover. Diplomas are mailed approximately six weeks after the degree is posted, as long as all financial obligations to the University have been met.
- 冬季季毕业生 should receive diplomas by mid-June
- 春季学期毕业生 should receive diplomas by mid-September.
- 夏季季毕业生 should receive diplomas by mid-December.
- 秋季学期毕业生 should receive diplomas by mid-March.
